WWE wrestling at work funny story | Autism PDD

David,

Nice to see you back! Cute story!
hey guys

just wanted to share a funny story

Ive been working at my job as a janitor in a program for adults and young adults with special needs for over a year now.

in the time that ive worked there ive seen alot of my coworkers do alot of funny (and crazy things)

if anyones ever seen the hit nbc show "the office" thats kind of like it in some ways

(not completley however we work hard )

anyway alot of the special needs people on my crew are some unique characthers.

we have some people with MR some people with down syndrome and some people who work their because they have health issues like epilepsey or are autistic or developmentally delayed.

everyones age there (trainees) ranges in age from 19 and up most trainees are in their early or mid 20s and our 2 oldest are 47 and 34

the following is a story that took place before i joined the matinence crew about 2 or 3 months in fact

and originally occured in may of 2006

warning the following story is not ficticious the names have been not been changed to protect the innocent

if anyone here has watched Jackass #2 or an episode of wwe monday night raw

this story will defienently make you laugh if youre into the kind of humor on these shows

just to assure everyone no one was hurt during the incident

and everyone was ok and learned a valuable lesson in the end about not trying what you see on tv at home or anywhere else

it was a warm may morning as blair

(my 27 year old coworker with downs syndrome he was 25 at the time)

worked with his coworkwers mike and daniel in cleaning a mens bathroom in there office building they cleaned as part of their daily matinence duties.

they were having a good time talking about the previous nights wrestling show

and disscussing what would happen the next week on the program .

the young men were in a happy mood almost rambunctious as well and one of them got the bright idea to put their wwe watching to good use.

the end result was similar to the cast of jackass #2 (steve o chris pontious and johnny knoxville)

meeting the 3 stooges (larry curly and moe)in a pie throwing contest

only it wasnt exactly pies it was piledrivers and body slams

as before you knew it an all out 3 man battle royal broke out in the small office building mens room

it started when daniel playfully threw some water at blair from the sink .

blair completley hyper walked over to daniel and smacked him square in the face before you knew it it had begun

daniel went for a chokeslam as his comeback but blair ducked and tried to climb on daniels back

(daniel was a big boy at 21 years old and 6"6)

daniel grabbed blair as he was climbing and picked him up in the air with both hands like former wwe wrestler andre the giant would do

mike stood there perplexed with his jaw dropped watching the action

(refereeing my boss would later tell me)

as blair sqwermed and yelled being held in the air by this massive young giant.

blair has a bit of a speech impediement that makes it hard to understand him but clearely was loud enough for the curious people outside to hear

enter my boss

He was cleaning in the other bathroom when he heard the fuss and wondered what was going on in the other room with the boys he figured they were having some fun oh was he right.

when he came in he saw blair being suspended in mid air in the arms of the giant trainee

meanwhile mike stood there jaw dropped in awe of daniels awesome physical size and power

and to make matters even more interesting someone had forgotten to turn the off the sink .

and a small waterfall was cascading over the side of the overflowing sink on to the floor which now had atleast a foot long puddle and was quickly filling up by the second.

My Boss quickly broke up the match running into the room yelling and got blair down and had an emergency meeting with the crew

(minus me as i hadnt started yet i didnt start working there until july of 06 i heard this story my second or 3rd month on the job).

in all of his years of job coaching mentally challenged people he had seen some unique things and situations

thankfully no one was hurt

and even though these young men were strong

(particually the guy who was 6"6 Daniel )

everyone was ok

As fair punishement though the guys did lose some money of off their paychecks and were told no wrestling magazines durning break for a month.

however it was one of the funniest things he (most of the other members of the crew as well)

had ever seen and it was hard to keep a straight face disiplining the guys.

who were just having the match in good fun whether they knew how strong they were or knew they were at work or not.

thankfully weve had no rematches since

but its become a hot topic of discussion every christmas party and pizza party we have as one of the funniest memories from work.

personally i wish i had gotten to see it i also wish some one had a video camera to film it on as well i started 3 months to late to see this in person

but oh well

i love a good story and hope you enjoyed this one

any one else have funny things like this happen on their job

or are we unique?

note ( also please keep in mind the 3 men were not autistic me and one other guy with fragile x are the only 2 autistic people at that job)

I went from gasping to laughing back to gasping then back to laughing.  I don't what to think.  I am glad no one was hurt though.

Men! Always in to some mischief.

Zayzer- you are right some mischeif always going on with us crazy young men

Dave dude - Wouldent miss it for the world ill be watching im also watching it on spike tv tonight after tna wrestling is over

interesting to see that youve had some situations like that yourself youre right about getting guys together

and stuff going crazy

i hope you have fun watching ufc

and always feel free to pm me anytime bro

thanks for the nice repliesheh, cool story. I work in a warehouse with many people, this company is enourmous and international, so its amazing us guys get away with some of the stuff we have done on the job. We always are careful the place is packed full of vehicles, toe motors, high lifts, forklifts and powerjacks. I work in an isolated area, a part of the warehouse that is frozen. B4 this 1 dude got a job with the NYS highway dept he would be the one doin all the roughhousin, was his thing cause he was pretty stong. This guy can pick up an 80lb pallet and toss it with 1 hand. I tryed to take him down once and all he did was smack me around, that was fun.

Ya, interesting environment, you get a bunch of young guys together with nobody watching and all hell can break loose.

BTW UFC fight this saturday!!!!!! R U watching?? Im eather going to a party across town to watch it (i always get invited to go) or i may stay here with my GF and order it since shes into ultimate fighting too.cute story! I searched this thread because my nursing school clinical assigned patient lives for wrestling. Me and an other student nurse were thinking of dressing up and staging a fake wrestling match for the patient. Maybe we better stick with just dressing up like wrestlers on Halloween week...lol

I was wondering who some popular wrestlers are these days. Any suggestions on who is popular would be greatly appreciatted as I know nada about wrestling!momof139738.1572569444Hi Havoc,

It's good to see you here! Thank you for posting the wrestlers names!

I wish we lived close enough for me to bring Quinn by your house on Halloween, he would love it. I bet all the kids are going to love love trick or treating at house!

Stickboy~ Sorry to hear that you have bronchitis I hope you feel better soon!momof139743.2692013889

Hey David:)

When I was a kid wrestling was on every saturday night..we had a wrestling arena downtown and we actually believed everything we saw...my favorites were the Von Eric's..their dad and then all his 4 sons but tragedy hit all of them one by one and I think only one is alive today:(

We would go and watch them live and go nuts! It wasnt as glitzy as it is now. I am old though:P

Thinking of you stickboy>

Rockstar nick you are one funny dude indeed you guys are evolving bars to concert events is a huge step up

Yeah that's right, I got names for you too mister, and I know how to stick 'em in the forum code! bwahahaha....

Oh man if my brother Josh got to telling jokes, not only would he have the crowd rolling, but they'd never get him stopped. Or better yet, let him and Jonathan get going at each other (much like Jack Lemmon and James Garner used to do with each other in their movies) they do that all the time on the bus and it's hilarious.

I'm funny on paper where he's funny in person.

I don't know about Hurricane Nick, but I'd take Stormchaser Nick any day. stickboy2639742.6792361111

mom of 1 thats a nice idea

im sure youre patient would love it

ill give a few suggestions long list

triple h , shawn micheals, sting, mick foley , stone cold steve austin , the nature boy ric flair WHOOOOOOOO, kevin nash , batista , john cena

and the list goes on and on

personally im  dressing up like sting

for halloween when im giving out candy to the kids this year i sit out on the driveway tell them to take as many as theyd like and have a nice halloween

last year when i was sting i got compliments on how since i painted my face i looked alot like him .

the fact that i have long black hair helps too

and when i have a goatee ive been told i slightly resemble the undertaker

i stay basically clean shaven these days though so i look handsome for all of the girls at work

anyway i wasnt planning on posting here today but when i saw this i had to say something

ive been insanely busy lately working on making phone calls to freinds

 playing video games work ,

 watching the wrestling dvds

you name it but thought i would stop in and say hi and i will try to be back on a more regular basis eventully

ive had a busy week i babysitted my bosses 13 year old with aspergers on sunday and had to break up a fight between him and his 12 year old brother

( i didnt like seeing that)

i had to send both boys to their rooms to cool down my boss and his wife were proud of how i handled the situation and were glad they put me in charge my boss is one of my best freinds

eventully when everything cooled down and the boys shook hands and said sorry to each other we all had pizza

and i then on thursday night had an adult autism support group last night

 i had to go too

and i met a very nice autistic guy named dave who has a daughter my age and a few other guys who were very nice and we were discussing social events for the group

at 22 i think i was the youngest one there it was fun though .

anyway sorry i havent been around much lately and thanks for brining back this post and thinking of me.

Haha -- I remember this post. At first, I thought you had gone back to your old username because the date is exactly a year ago, so at first I only saw the "October 17" and didn't notice that the date was 2007.

Then I got to reading the post and thought "wait, haven't I read this before?" then I saw zayzer's reply with the October 18 date and I was like "huh?" then I figured it out.

Gotta give me a minute sometimes...stickboy2639738.6941898148

its my boy rockstar nick

yep indeed alot has changed in a year for me thankfully alot for the better 2007 was a a rough year for me ive loved 2008 so far

as far as the guy i wrote this post about i have an update on him

blair hes no longer going to be in our program

because he can simply no longer do the work so he will be transferred within a month we are sad hes going and were going to miss him but he needs to go to a place where he can get more help

and its looking like 2 of our other guys might be let go because one of them never shows up and fakes being sick

and the other one has been stealing things lately that dont belong to him

however we have a new girl in the program now who is very nice

alot of things can change in a year. heh

Rainman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! how the heck are you???? It's been a looong time. Loved the story. My oldest is heavily into wrestling and is currently wrestling for middle and high school. he loves it!! He has quite a few boys on his team (and girls...how bout that) that are on the spectrum, and they are GREAT wrestlers.

perhaps a wrestling mat in the bathroom would be a good idea? or maybe in the breakroom of your job? top three places in the matches gets a swifer sweeper vac.....now thats what I'm talkin' about aaaah yeahhhhh[QUOTE=juls35inva]

nice talking to you again

Hey man. Just getting back from a show in Tunica, MS. I have bronchitis, and thus no voice and couldn't sing my harmony parts, but I played fine and the crowd loved us. That's all that matters, right?

Business-wise, things are going great. We have a manager now who has sent copies of our song "Strip" to some radio stations across the country to see if it can get some air play. And as of Saturday, according to Cowboy there are 4 stations all in the Los Angeles area who have agreed to play our song. Also it looks like we will get to play in some national showcases this coming year (basically, talent shows for exposure to record scouts). One of them I think is in Austin, TX.

No dates yet.

We have been instructed to work on "stage personas" in the meantime. I think we already have them personally, but I think it refers to how we dress and look onstage -- we want to be eye-catching to scouts. So that's the next step.

In either phase, radio airplay or talent showcase, if we are a hit, we should get picked up by a recrd label, and if we get a deal we like, then it's on!

In any case I hope it happens sooner rather than later because I don't want to be a substitute teacher for much longer! I'm way too much of a kid to have to be the adult all the time!

In the meantime we have 3 upcoming shows here in Little Rock, which I'm glad. Our local fans have not seen us in over 2 months. Also on the slate is a short intermission slot at another MMA fight on November 1. We will also be playing at a pay-per-view fight in February.

Our gig in Tampa, FL for next month got cancelled, but it's just as well because we can't really afford the fuel to get down there right now, plus no one there would have heard of us anyway and we'd likely get a measly crowd like we did in Birmingham last summer.

But all in all things are going great, I just wish they'd go faster. We are ready to take the next step, and I don't say such things lightly.stickboy2639740.9323842593

sounds like you are knocking on the door of sucess

In any case I hope it happens sooner rather than later because I don't want to be a substitute teacher for much longer!

you and me both

when

i had to break up that fight between dave and his bro and be the adult  it felt pretty awkward

i also feel that for that reason alone ill most likely never have childeren i would have a hard time discipling them because of my forgiving, fun loving laid back nature my kids would grow up spoiled rotten,

oh my gosh wait until woodsman reads that !!!! hes a huge ultimate fighting nut i watch a fair shair of it myself

they get to see the fights and listen to some great music as well

Rockstar nick so much congrats to you guys on all of your sucess

that story about hurricane ike was crazy

ive missed talking to you lately im sure you guys will have your own behind the music story on vh1 in no time

Ah sweet, we're on here at the same time!

Idunno about VH1, but I hope we get to do Jay Leno or Conan O'Brien, or Jimmy Kimmel sometime.

Yeah the MMA fights are always fun. Nothing like watching two guys beat the crap out of each other, then playing heavy rock music to incite even more thirst for blood.

As for barfights, etc., I can assure you that the steps we're taking are geared to get us away from the bars and clubs finally, and on toward concert events, where the crowd is there to see the band, not just drink the booze.

Yeah that was pretty crazy that deal with Hurricane Ike. If it had been daylight there would have been all sorts of video footage.! stickboy2639741.5989351852
